Why I Support JILL STEIN

The two money parties differ substantially in what they say, but not in what they do. They both do plutocracy, greenwashing, unprovoked war, etc. They are owned by the same plutocrats. They are tied for “greater evil,” so supporting either is a wasted vote. And RFK2 pretends he is different, but really he’s not; in particular, he is supporting Israel’s mass murders right along beside Biden and Trump. And I can’t support Libertarians, with their “every man for himself” economics.

What about other third parties? They are not likely to win, but they can change society by growing a big movement, spreading awareness. That’s the real goal of third parties and of this leaflet of mine (which you can find at LeftyMathProf.wordpress.com/Stein). We’ve all been fooled by the corporate press. Until most of us see what is really going on, neither election nor revolution can bring the huge changes we need.

Dr Jill Stein is running as a Green. The Greens, more than other third parties, have been fighting the ballot obstacles that the money parties have erected. Greens will get on the ballot in nearly every state, without accepting any corporate money.

The “news” section of Jill’s website includes interviews. Listen to them – she’s brilliant, smarter even than me – she has good answers for everything. This leaflet of mine is not officially approved or disapproved by Jill’s campaign, but I think it mostly agrees with her views. Jill’s slogan is people, planet, peace.

PEOPLE: We need an economy that works for all of us. That includes food, housing, healthcare, education, livable wages, etc. But instead most of us get austerity, while the rich get richer. Our so-called democracy is really a plutocracy, which means rule by the rich; see Gilens and Page 2014.

PLANET: The heat of 2023 broke all records, but 2024 likely will be hotter still. Heating is speeding up, due to feedback and tipping points. Oil barons and their politicians have lied about greenhouse gases for dec­ades. Republicans deny there’s any problem at all, and Democrats boast of increasing oil production. Both money parties, chasing short-term profits, ignore long-term consequences such as crop failures and famine. Only collaboration might still save us, not competition.

PEACE: The USA is constantly starting war after war, enriching profiteers and crushing everyone else. That’s nothing new – see Smedley Butler’s 1935 book War is a Racket. Whistle-blowers are imprisoned. Many veterans kill themselves after seeing what they’ve done. And on any day one of our wars may turn nuclear – not just bigger bombs, but radioactive fallout and nuclear winter, killing us all. Only friendship and disarmament can make us safe.

Let’s change direction, and live up to the ideals our country has always claimed. Give, volunteer, vote, for JillStein2024.com.
